I flew into Shannon on Monday and drove down to Kerry, where I met up with June and Ian. We played golf in the glorious sunny weather – after getting soaked in a downpour while walking on the beach – and enjoyed the spectacular scenery at Dooks. Had some great seafood there, too.

Alas, the visit was all too short. I headed up to Dublin on Tuesday afternoon for a conference on Wednesday. That night I met up with Niall to check out his new house, and then on Thursday had dinner with himself, Donal and Fr. Eoghan, at which we regaled each other with our usual incomparable wit.
Friday was a relaxing day, with a business lunch after catching up with Mary for morning coffee before her trip to Westport for the long weekend. After dining al fresco at the Club, it was off to Ann’s for afternoon tea with herself, Tim and Caitriona, before returning to the Club for dinner, stopping off to meet Eithne who was home from Poland.
Saturday was a busy day; after a leisurely breakfast I met Leanne and Mr. F for a late lunch, John B for coffee in Bewley’s, our old haunt, and then a few pints with Brendan before heading out to Clontarf to meet Frank for a beer in Harry’s, and then back to meet Noriko for supper.
Sunday was a very lazy day; met Dave and Nadia for breakfast and a stroll in St. Stephen’s Green before sitting out in the sun with a book for the afternoon, followed by dinner at Ann’s where I met Niall and Maria again, en famille. Finally, Monday morning saw me at the airport for an early morning flight back to New York.
