n case you’re wondering about the paucity of updates on this weblog, we are all in fine fettle. We’ve been pretty low-key, and have just enjoyed spending a quiet July 4th weekend at home.

I spent a fair amount of time over the last few days learning Photoshop and using it on some of the 400 pictures I took last weekend at an equestrian event not far from here. Jenn, meanwhile, had – as always – her hands full looking after the two monsters.

The kids are in great form; Orla is definitely enjoying dancing. She goes to a ballet and tap class once a week now, and also a creative movement class. She’s excited about her upcoming public debut, and has already told me the precise flowers she wants ! (She must have heard about the time my bouquet of roses was presented to Altynai Asylmuratova. But that’s another story…)

Eoghan, meanwhile, still loves trucks and cars and mud. He has a great time every day on his trike, although he never really gets anywhere, just up and down the path. But in 10 or 15 years, who knows, maybe we’ll all be on our push-bikes, heading up the Alpe d’Huez. (Incidentally, La Tour (or De Tewer, in Kelly-speak), has just started. I personally don’t think Lance has a snowball’s chance of clinching his 6th win, but what do I know…)

Given that we’re into summer here, complete with high temperatures and disgusting humidity, both kids are enjoying the local swim club. It’s a nice facility, quite close to us, with a snack bar, adults’ pool and a kiddie pool. Not as snobby as a Connecticut country club, we all like it.
